I RELY ON BREASTFEEDING TO STABILISE THE DISEASE (4)

 4. A STRANGE NIGHT

Although Chu Ran didn't know who he was for two lifetimes, she must first win his sympathy.

Just when Gu Xian got up and was about to leave, Chu Ran grabbed his sleeve and said weakly, "Gege, I'm hungry!"

A slight smile was drawn from the corner of Gu Xian's mouth, and he touched her head softly. After patting her head, he suddenly picked her up again and placed her on his lap.

Chu Ran exclaimed in surprise, isn't the prince too casual?

Not to mention Chu Ran, even Yong Mei standing next to her was a bit surprised, and coughed slightly: "Wang Ye, Miss Chu is a girl."

The guards next to him looked at Yong Mei in unison, as if they can't see that she is a girl.

Gu Xian ignored her, holding Chu Ran in one hand, and taking the sweet-scented osmanthus cake on the table in the other, he fed Chu Ran little by little. Seeing that it was a little dry for her, he poured her some tea and brought it to her lips.

"Didn't she call Ben Wang brother?"

Everyone, "..."

Chu Ran sat on his lap, leaning against his chest uncomfortably. He smelled of herbs. Before she fainted that day, she saw a bloody bandage on his body. He should have suffered severe injuries.

Yong Mei was worried about what the prince was going to do to Chu Ran, but when she saw that he was just holding the Chu Ran and feeding her like a pet, she finally let go of the worries in her heart.

Chu Ran finished eating the cake very painfully: "I'm full."

As soon as Gu Xian released his hand, Chu Ran immediately jumped down from his lap. After curtsying, she followed Yong Mei back to her room.

After staying in the palace for nearly half a month, she rarely saw Gu Xian, but the doctors who came to the palace changed batch after batch.

She heard Yong Mei say that the wound that the prince suffered this time has not been healed even after a long time, and it seemed to be some kind of strange poison.

In the middle of the night, Chu Ran was awakened by the sound of the wind blowing. She glanced at the window which had be blown open at some point.

She got out of the quilt and walked towards the window, reaching out to close the window tightly, but suddenly she saw a figure standing outside.

It was too dark. She only saw a long dark shadow, and nothing else could be seen clearly. But that figure made Chu Ran feel very  familiar.

"Wang Ye?" She hesitated and called out softly.

Hearing her voice, the figure leapt up suddenly disappeared from the air like a bird.

Chu Ran was shocked. She wanted to wake Yong Mei, but she was afraid that Gu Xian would do something wrong. So she simply put on her clothes, bit the bullet and drilled out of the window, chasing the dark shadow.

Under the dark sky, apart from the sound of the wind, there were only the sound of the insects chirping. As soon as Chu Ran left the house, she was a little lost. The dark shadow just disappeared.

Chu Ran was also a little confused, wondering if she should go back to the house. Right then, she saw a black shadow not far away from her, flashing past again like lightning.

She rushed to catch up with him and called out, "Wang Ye, is it you?"

The black shadow didn't respond, nor looked back, but just continued to move forward.

Chu Ran hurriedly wanted to catch up, but her short legs couldn't match the ghostly shadow. After not chasing a few steps, the shadow was gone.

Chu Ran stopped in place, sniffed, and apart from the cold air, there seemed to be an unusual smell.

Chu Ran looked around, it was like an abandoned yard, overgrown with weeds. No one took care of the weeds. It had almost grows to the height of a person.

She thought for a moment, pushed aside the weeds and continued walking forward, but the wetness and greasiness from her hands made her stop. She hesitantly retracted her hand from the weeds, put it under her nose and smelled it.

It was the smell of rust. Although the color on her fingers could not be seen in the dark, she also knew what it was.

It was blood, blood that hasn't solidified yet.

Chu Ran was shocked.

At this moment, there was another movement ahead. This time she stopped making a sound, and cautiously stepped forward, hiding her small body in the half-person high weeds.

A gust of wind blew, and the smell of blood became even stronger.

Chu Ran moved towards the fishy smell and pushed aside the weeds in front of her. In the night where there is no moon but  just a little bit of starlight, the dark shadow stood upright in the clearing.

Turning his back to Chu Ran's direction, his cloak swayed gently with the night wind, and his hands fell on both sides. There were things like water droplets that fell on the ground bit by bit from between his fingers, which submerged in the grass and mud. The soil seemed to start to smell of blood.

Chu Ran was too frightened to make a sound.

The man suddenly turned his head with scarlet bloodshot eyes and looked towards Chu Ran, who was hiding in the weeds, like the Shura in hell.

Chu Ran staggered back in fear...

Chu Ran suddenly felt a chill behind her, and her heart sank. She felt her waist being hooped. She tilted her head and saw Gu Xian's scarlet eyes which looked gloomy and scary.

Chu Ran trembled uncontrollably, suspecting that she was going to die again.

...Why is she so unlucky?.

T/L: Well, if I was her, I would not even have bothered to crawl of bed and let the window be however it was. I would be trembling in bed the whole night but I would never ever leave my bed. Open window at night is a trap!!
